Complementary Medicine Law

Under Australian law, dietary supplements, nutritional supplements, herbal, medicines, homoeopathic preparations, probiotics and certain aromatherapy preparations are known as “complementary medicines” and are regulated under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989.

We are in the unique position where our principal lawyer holds a Bachelor of Complementary Medicine (UNE) which demonstrates not only an interest and passion for this area but a real working knowledge of the practice, philosophy and products and services of the complementary medicine industry.

Details of the areas where we can assist you and your business are set out below:

  • Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods – listed medicines, assessed listed medicines and registered medicines in the complementary medicine space
  • Supply and distribution agreements
